Plant Care

Light: ZZ Plants are incredibly adaptable to different lighting conditions. They can thrive in low to bright, indirect light. While they can tolerate low light, they do best in moderate, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Temperature: Maintain a comfortable indoor temperature between 65-75°F (18-24°C). ZZ Plants are not cold-tolerant and should be protected from drafts and extreme temperature fluctuations.

Watering: Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. Water sparingly, as ZZ Plants are highly drought-tolerant. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Water even less in the dormant season (fall and winter).

Soil: Use well-draining potting soil with good aeration. A standard indoor plant mix works well. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogged soil.

Pot: Choose a pot with drainage holes. ZZ Plants prefer slightly crowded conditions and do not require frequent repotting.

Fertilization: Feed your ZZ Plant sparingly. Apply a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-3 months during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can lead to salt buildup.

Pests: ZZ Plants are generally pest-resistant. However, occasional mealybugs or spider mites may appear. Inspect your plant regularly and treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
