Pink African Daisy Arctotis 'Pink Sugar'
The Pink African Daisy Arctotis Pink Sugar is a stunning, low-growing, daisy-like plant that blooms with soft pink petals. This hardy plant is ideal for warm, sunny areas, and it's an excellent choice for adding a touch of beauty and color to your garden. It is an evergreen perennial with a compact habit to 10 to 14 inches tall with velvety silver-gray foliage and pink flowers that have an orange-yellow eye and appear nearly continuously from April through November. Flowers are attractive to butterflies and the fuzzy gray foliage seems resistant to deer predation.
Growing Pink African Daisy
- Provide full sun exposure for at least 6-8 hours a day. African daisies thrive in bright, direct sunlight and will bloom best with adequate light.
- Water the plant moderately, allowing the soil to dry out between watering sessions. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the soil has good drainage.
- Use well-draining soil, preferably a sandy or loamy mix. African daisies prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0-7.0).
- Maintain a warm environment with temperatures between 60-75°F (15-24°C). Protect the plant from frost and extreme heat.
- Feed the plant with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) to encourage healthy growth and blooming.
