The small to medium shrub produces dark red, brushy flowers during the spring and summer months. Versatile, hardy and colorful, the Little John is a popular accent plant used in many types of landscapes. Little John’s can make a nice informal hedge, accent to a desert yard, or planted in mass over large areas.

Growing Little John Bottlebrush

• Prefers well-draining, sandy or loamy soil with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.
• Water regularly, especially during the first growing season to establish a deep root system; once established, water every 1-2 weeks.
• Thrives in full sun, requiring at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
• Optimal temperature range is 65-85°F (18-29°C), but can tolerate temperatures as low as 20°F (-6°C).
• Prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth, removing any dead or damaged branches.
• Best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 8 to 11.

Shipping Info

The plant is currently growing in a one gallon container, but will be shipped with the roots wrapped in plastic and ready to plant upon arrival. The plant will be between 8 to 10 inches in height.
