The Indian Hawthorn plant is an evergreen shrub with a medium growth rate and is shaped in a dense upright oval form. It has large attractive leathery dark-green oval leaves with clusters of fragrant light-pink flowers in late winter to early spring. Drought tolerant once established.
The Majestic Beauty cultivar of the Indian Hawthorn is among the largest cultivar available, with big beautiful leaves nearly twice the size as many other Rhaphiolepis. It can be used as a large dense background shrub or trimmed up to be a small accent tree. As a tree, they can reach up to 20 feet tall by 15 feet wide. Prolific pink flowers cover this shrub in Spring and have a mild fragrance.
