Dianthus Caryophyllus, commonly known as Carnation, is a timeless and fragrant perennial cherished for its long-blooming sweet and spicy flowers.

Dianthus Caryophyllus Carnation produces clear yellow double flowers on shiny upright stems rising to about 16 inches tall. The leaves are linear gray to silver. Carnation prefers average, evenly moist, well-drained soil and full sun. It is ideal for cut flowers and borders. 

Growing Carnations

The slender, erect stems bear linear to lance-shaped leaves, providing an attractive backdrop for the intricate, ruffled and often fringed flowers that bloom in various colors, including white, pink, red, and striped varieties. 

Carnations appear in late spring and early summer, frequently used in cut flower arrangements. Carnations thrive in well-drained soil and partial to full sun conditions, but do not tolerate high heat and humidity.

These plants have been growing in one gallon containers. They will be shipped without the containers. The roots and soil will be dampened and covered in plastic wrap prior to shipping. They will be ready to plant upon arrival.
