Arctostaphylos 'Pacific Mist Manzanita'

The Arctostaphylos 'Pacific Mist Manzanita' plant is a convenient evergreen shrub features glossy, deep green leaves and white or pale pink flowers that bloom in the springtime and add a pop of color to your garden. Enjoy a healthy and vibrant shrub all year long with this easy to maintain plant.

Pacific Mist Manzanita is a low-growing, sprawling shrub that grows 2-feet tall with a spread of 6-10 feet. It has twisting branches that are pinkish at first, then mature to a dark purple-brown and turn upwards towards the tips. These branches have narrow gray-green foliage that is 2 to 3 inches long and grayer in hotter inland landscapes and greener near the coast, where it performs best. It occasionally flowers in late winter with small white urn-shaped flowers that are followed by red berries.

Growing Pacific Mist Manzanita

  • Plant Pacific Mist Manzanita (Arctostaphylos 'Pacific Mist') in a location with full sun to partial shade, ensuring it receives at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily for optimal growth.
  • Provide well-draining soil, such as sandy or rocky soil, to prevent water-logging and root rot.
  • Water regularly during the plant's establishment period, then reduce to occasional watering, as it is drought-tolerant once established.
  • Prune lightly to maintain its shape and remove any dead or damaged branches, encouraging a dense and attractive growth habit.
  • Pacific Mist Manzanita is hardy in USDA zones 8-10 and is well-suited for coastal gardens, providing excellent erosion control and requiring minimal maintenance.
