Agave Kisshokan
The Agave Kisshokan plant, with its tight, rounded form and dwarf stature, is perfect for small gardens and containers. Its symmetrical, inward-curving leaves are a powdery blue-gray that contrasts beautifully with its dark red terminal spines and marginal teeth. As both spines and teeth are quite sharp, this Agave should be planted where it will be out of reach of pets. This type of Agave remains quite small at just 12 to 14 inches tall and 12 to 18 inches wide. Grows as a single rosette that will eventually form small offsets around the base.
Growing Agave Kisshokan
- Plant Agave Kisshokan in a location with full sun to partial shade, ensuring it receives ample sunlight for healthy growth and vibrant coloration.
- Provide well-draining soil, such as sandy or rocky soil, to prevent water-logging and root rot, as Agave Kisshokan is susceptible to root rot in overly moist conditions.
- Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between watering sessions, as Agave Kisshokan is drought-tolerant and prefers dry conditions.
- Protect from frost and extreme cold temperatures, as Agave Kisshokan is not frost-tolerant and may require winter protection in cooler climates.
- Prune occasionally to remove dead or damaged leaves and maintain its attractive rosette shape.
