Description

The trident maple is well known for its superb leaf colors in the autumn.

This variety of maple has small leaves with 3 tightly packed lobes.  It also has a pale bark with an interesting texture that exfoliates with age, revealing a greyish orange and brown color.

When spring comes around the new growth is often bronze to purple.

It has become extremely desirable for bonsai cultivation because of its small and colorful leaves.

Maple trees are deciduous, which means they will drop their leaves in the winter and must be kept outdoors.
