Agave Medio-Picta Varigated Plant One Gallon Size

A medium-sized Agave with a graceful, arching form and variegated blue and white foliage. This smaller, variegated form of Agave americana makes for an elegant accent in a landscape and is good for adding a decorative element to hillsides and short slopes. Leaves are cream colored down the center with wide bands of steely blue along the edges.

Due to its sharp teeth and terminal spines, it should be planted where it will be out of reach of people and pets. Grows as a single rosette and is very slow to produce offsets or flower. It often takes a couple of decades for it to flower, at which point it will send up a 10 to 15 foot stalk topped with yellow flowers.

Once it has bloomed, the primary rosette will die and the plant will grow as a clump of smaller offsets. Prefers full sun to light shade inland. Plant in very well-draining, even gravelly soil. Water infrequently to not at all once established.

You will receive one well rooted plant. Your plant will be shipped with the roots wrapped in damp paper towels and with plastic and ready to plant upon arrival. The plant will be between 1 to 2 feet in height with well-developed roots. These plants have been growing in 5  gallon containers. Planting guidelines will also be included.
